Once an integral part of the Silk Road, the ancient network of trade routes connecting the far East with the Mediterranean, this central Asian country has remained largely undiscovered.

Perhaps it is its remoteness and isolation, or even the strikingly different ways of life that continue to captivate people from far and wide.

French photographer Celine Meunier spent 10 days trekking and horseback riding through its rugged landscapes, a journey she describes as humbling and profound.

During her time in Kyrgyzstan, Meunier lived alongside the country's last nomads, capturing the beauty and hardships of this endangered lifestyle.
